Beverly Police report that Route 1A/Cabot Street at Russel Street has reopened after being closed to traffic for much of the day due to accident.

Due to continued snowfall and treacherous conditions, the City of Beverly’s Snow Parking Ban will continue into Tuesday so plow crews can continue clearing roads.

The Beverly Police Department is inviting the community to the 29th-Annual Sean R. Connelly Memorial Christmas Toy Drive to benefit underprivileged children in the Beverly community.

As the holidays approach, residents should be aware that the number of package thefts will increase. 

BEVERLY — Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that the Beverly Police Department and law enforcement partners successfully de-escalated a situation involving an individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

BEVERLY — Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that the Beverly Police Department located and arrested a New Jersey man on a warrant for attempted murder in that state.

BEVERLY — Chief John G. LeLacheur is proud to report that the Beverly Police Department, working in collaboration with Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker’s Office, recovered more than $21,000 in cash that was lost by senior residents to bitcoin scams. The department is in the process of returning the money to victims. 

The Beverly Police Department and Beverly Fire Department, with assistance from a dive team, is participating in an active search in the area of the Essex Bridge.

The Beverly Police Department would like to share that the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission has scheduled the 2025 Municipal Police Officer Examination, the first step for anyone who is considering becoming a police officer in Massachusetts.
