Beverly Police Arrest 2 People After Alleged Drug Overdose
In November of 2022 the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit began an investigation into an alleged drug overdose death in the downtown area of Beverly. During the course of this investigation detectives were able to obtain the deceased’s cellular phone. Upon scrolling through the phone detectives were able to identify at least three different illicit drug suppliers to the deceased. An undercover police detective was able to converse with the suspected drug dealers. One of these dealers appeared to be dealing various pharmaceuticals, including Gabapentin, Quetiapine and Valium. This dealer believed to be a female agreed to meet with the undercover detective at a predetermined location. Upon arrival with a bag of Gabapentin in hand this female was taken into custody by detectives.
LISA MARIE OLIVERI, AGE 56, OF DANVERS, was charged with:
- Intent to Distribute a Class C Controlled Substance
 
The investigation continued and an undercover police detective able to converse with a second suspected supplier of drugs to the deceased, who was identified as ALEXANDER SINGH GUJRAL, AGE 20, OF MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA. Over a three-month period it was learned Gujral was supplying drugs that were obtained from the Dark Web. Gujral provided a menu and pricing list of various drug he could supply to the undercover detective. The list consisted of but not limited to: “Fet-free” Heroin, MDMA (ecstasy), Ketamine (animal tranquilizer), LSD (acid), Methylphenidate (Ritalin), Dexmethylphenidate (Focalin), Adderall and Marijuana. Gujral was utilizing an encrypted messaging service to conduct his drug sales over. The messages would disappear after time, not to be retrieved. During the course of this investigation, Gujral admitted indirect involvement with the overdose death of his girlfriend in Chicago, IL, in 2021. This was corroborated by a Chicago Police report obtained by Beverly detectives. A warrant was obtained for Gujral after he sold various drugs in the City of Beverly to an undercover police detective.
Gujral was arrested on 1/12/23 by the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit, Beverly Police Officer Thomas Slavin and Manchester Police Detectives at his School St. residence in Manchester-By-The-Sea. Manchester Detectives recovered various illicit drugs during Gujral’s arrest at the residence.
