2 Lynn Men Charged With Cocaine Trafficking

On 12/20/22, police were dispatched to an alleged package theft in the area of Bresnahan Court. A description of the motor vehicle and male suspects involved in the alleged theft was provided by a concerned citizen. Officers Jason Lantych and Josh Spitaleri located the suspect vehicle a short distance away and began to question two male suspects that had been present in the vehicle. As more details came to light, the investigation began to take different direction. The Beverly Police Drug Control Unit (DCU) then began assisting.

Officer Justin Ellerton of the Ipswich Police Department and his drug sniffing K-9 Stryka were requested. Stryka alerted to the presence of drugs in the suspect package. During the furtherance of the investigation a search warrant was applied for and obtained. The package was found to contain three kilos (6.6 lbs.) of suspected cocaine, with a street value of approximately $105,000. As a result of these findings, warrants were issued on the charges of trafficking over 200 grams of class B, cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws for:

  • MOISES ANTONIO MOREL ARIAS, 39, OF LYNN
  • MICHAEL MARTE, AGE 20, OF LYNN
