Two Beverly Police Officers Graduate from Police Academy

The Beverly Police Department is pleased to share that Officers Richard Melanson and Jaymes Sweeney recently graduated from the Massachusetts Municipal Training Committee (MPTC)  Lynnfield Police Academy’s Recruit Officer Class. 

The MPTC Police Academy in Lynnfield provides a 24-week intense academy program that includes studies in procedural justice, physical and mental endurance training, de-escalation tactics, and more.

Graduates were recognised during a ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 19. 

Officer Melanson also received the top recruit award, which is given to recruits who demonstrate overall excellence and leadership throughout the academy. 

Beverly Police would like to congratulate Officers Melanson and Sweeney on this great accomplishment and officially welcome them to the department!
