Arrest Made in Connection with Break-In to Beverly Farms Eatery
On Monday evening, Beverly detectives arrested Kendrick Leon, 31 of 10 Juniper Street, Beverly. Leon is charged with malicious destruction of property, breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, and larceny from a building. The charges stem from a June 12th call in which Officers responded to The Bagel Dudes eatery located at 3 Oak Street in the Beverly Farms section of the city for a report of suspicious activity. At approximately 5:30am a Good Samaritan contacted the police to report seeing a window pushed open on the side of the business. It was during the officer’s initial investigation, upon speaking with the store manager, and a review of security camera footage that it was determined a forced breaking and entering into the business occurred and money had been stolen. A follow up investigation by Detective Sergeant Edward Hathon, Detective Thomas Nolan, and Detective Shawn Desmond led them to Kendrick Leon, and a subsequent search warrant and arrest warrant were obtained. Detectives with assistance from Officer Chris Ganey were able apprehend Leon. Leon is expected to be arraigned in Salem District Court.
